Endodontics (Canal Treatment)
Endodontics (Canal Treatment)
In the inner part of the tooth, there are nerves (pulp tissue) that have an important role in feeding and protecting the dental tissues. The pulp starts from the crown part of the tooth and progresses to the root tip. The branch of science dealing with the treatment of diseases arising from these tissues is “endodontics”.
Apex Locator: It is a medical device that gives a warning when the narrowest part of the root tip, which should be the last point of the canal filling, is reached during root canal treatment. Apex locator not only increases the success of root canal treatment, but also reduces the need for x-rays and ensures that the patient is less exposed to x-rays.
RVG: It is a computer-aided system that provides a more detailed view of the treated teeth.
Endodontic Micromotor: They are medical devices used for 3D shaping of dental canals.
Laser-assisted root canal treatment: Laser is used for root canal disinfection during root canal treatments. In this way, it is aimed to make the treatment last longer by taking advantage of the effect of the laser that prevents bacterial growth.
Thanks to all these methods applied in the branch of endodontics in our center, it is aimed that the treatments achieve safer and more successful results.
WHAT SYMPTOMS OCCUR IN THE TEETH TO BE TREATED ?
Tooth discoloration, extreme sensitivity to cold or heat, pain that starts spontaneously, especially at night, and swelling due to facial abscess are clinical signs that indicate a problem in the pulp tissue.
DO YOU HAVE PAIN DURING OR AFTER TREATMENT?
Root canal treatment is a painless treatment performed under local anesthesia. Therefore, no pain is felt during the treatment; however, in some cases, a picture called “acute exacerbation” occurs after treatment. The frequency of occurrence of this table is negligible. Despite this, the patient is informed that such a situation may occur before the treatment. After the treatment is completed, a very slight pain is felt when the effect of the anesthesia wears off. However, this will soon disappear. Pain relievers can be used if needed.
